Introduction (Rio (2011) movie review):
In this movie “Rio (2011) movie review”, many birds were singing and dancing as they were enjoying their freedom in the Forest but suddenly some smugglers came and caught them all in cages. They were taking them somewhere but the van in which they had kept the birds had a small accident and the box in which they had captured a little blue macaw bird fell out.
Linda and Blu:
Linda who was a little girl at that time saw the box and opened it. When she saw such a beautiful little bird, she decided to adopt him and she did the same. She took him in her home and named him Blu. Linda promised him that she will never leave him alone in any situation and she tried hard to fulfill it but one day, Tulio came to her library.
Linda took Blu to Rio:
He came to know that she had a blue macaw parrot with her and he thought that it was the only male Blu macaw and their species was about to extinct. He had a female one so he wanted them to get them together and save their generation but Linda was feeling a little insecure about it as Tulio wanted her to come to Rio. She thought about it and decided to go.
Tulio’s Aviary:
Blu met many other birds on their way to Tulio’s aviary. When they reach there, he introduced them to many other injured birds. Tulio prepared Blu for jewel and send him in her cage. But Blu being very nervous didn’t even try to do anything. Linda and Tulio decided to give them some privacy and went to a restaurant to eat.
Blue Macaws Kidnapped:
After they leave, a white bird named Nigel opened the doors for a boy named Fernando who took the blue macaw parrots with him. He gave them to a smuggler named Marcel who wanted to sell them in the black market. Jewel tried to escape but she was caught. Marcel knew that Blu is a flightless bird so he chained her with Blu. But they still tried their best and ran away.
Blue and Jewel escaped:
Nigel tried to get them but failed. They met Rafael in the forest who tried to help them by taking them to Luiz a bull dog whose saliva helped them to get free. They also met Nico and Pedro on their way to Luiz which Blu met before. Nico and Pedro already knew that Blu was here for a girl and after seeing Jewel, they realized that she is the same girl.
Nico and Pedro helping Blu:
They tried to help him get himself introduced to the girl but they failed as Blu in his nervousness always made a mess. They also helped Blu to fly but Blu couldn’t make it. Nigel used the help of some monkeys who caught the blue macaws when the birds took them to dance party. At the party, Blu and Jewel fell in love with each other. When the monkeys reach there, the other birds fight with them and helped them to escape.

Fernando helping Linda and Tulio:
On the other side, Fernando felt ashamed of his act and wanted to help Linda and Tulio to search for their macaws. So, he took them to the smuggler’s hideout but they had already left. After they got free from the chains, Blu and Jewel had a small fight and they moved on their own ways. Jewel was then caught by Nigel who took her to the smugglers. Blu knowing Jewel in danger risked his life as well and went to save her.
Birds in the plane:
Linda and Tulio also came to the carnival parade as they knew that the smugglers were using this route. Blu tried to save Jewel but was also captured by Nigel. They transported them to the airplane. Blu being a domesticated macaw knew the ways and he somehow managed to open the cage. He freed every other bird from their cages in the plane and set them free but he himself was stuck as he was unable to fly.
Happy Ending (Rio (2011) movie review):
Jewel came for his help but Blu was scared. Nigel got them but was killed as Blu used the same extinguisher to save himself. Jewel was hurt and was unable to fly.
