Story (Shrek 1 movie review):
Introduction (Shrek 1 movie review):
The movie “Shrek 1 movie review” is about Shrek, a Grumpy Ogre who lived alone in a swamp. People often tried to kill him but he scared them very much that they never return. Shrek just wanted a peaceful life but people who met him just judge him wrong just by seeing him.
Fairy tale creatures needed:
One day, some people came and Shrek scared them, while running they left a poster there on which it was written that giving a fairy tale creature would be awarded. He ignored this but the next day, many people came with creatures that belong to different Fairy tale stories.
Talking Donkey:
There, an old woman also bring her donkey and said that this donkey could talk but the donkey didn’t even dare to speak a single word. Suddenly, due to chaos, a fairy’s pixie dust fell on the donkey so he started flying. He imagined too far and thought that through this he could escape but the effect of the pixie dust ended soon.
Shrek saved donkey:
He ran from the soldiers but they started following him and there he met Shrek who saved him from the soldiers. He followed him till his house but Shrek didn’t let him in as he didn’t want to ruin his privacy but soon all the annoying Fairy tale creatures were there in his swamp as Lord Farquaad exiled them from Duloc and forced them to live in the swamp.
Shrek met Lord Farquaad:
This made Shrek mad and he went to have a conversation with lord but when he reach there, he started a contest for a winner to chose a person who can bring him Princess Fiona that was in the castle protected by a fire breathing dragon. But when Shrek reach there, he ordered his soldiers to kill him but no one could manage to do so.
Shrek on the rescue:
So, he announced Shrek as the winner and made a deal with him that if he brought Princess Fiona from the castle, he would return him his swamp back. Shrek agreed and he started his journey with the donkey. Together they reach there but the donkey was so scared. Shrek in order to get his precious solitude back risked his life and went in to save the Princess.
Shrek saved the Princess:
After seeing someone coming to save her, the princess lied down on her bed for the expression of her true love but Shrek didn’t do anything she wanted. He took her with him locking the dragon in chains. On the way, at first the Princess got angry when she knew that the person who saved her was an ogre but Shrek ignored and took her with him.
Princess Curse:
As the sun started to set, princess got nervous as she was hiding a big secret from them. She became rude and ordered them to find her shelter. She spends the night in the shelter they made for her. After the night passed she realized her rudeness and she made them breakfast. They also met Robin Hood who tried to save her from ogre but the princess fought with them bravely.
Shrek started to like Princess:
After that, Shrek and the princess started liking each other. Donkey convinces Shrek to tell her his feelings but Shrek was very nervous so donkey went to the princess on his own to tell her about Shrek’s feeling. But as it was night time so he saw the true face of the princess but he still tried. But Shrek, who came there after a lot of courage, hears some of their conversation and misunderstood them.
Shrek’s misunderstanding:
He quickly left them to take Lord Farquaad and the princess went with them. Shrek went back to enjoy his solitude that was shattered by the fairytale creatures but he missed the princess very much as he started to love her. The donkey followed him and reached the swamp where he argues as the swamp was given as a reward to bring the princess and they did this together.
Happy Ending (Shrek 1 movie review):
Shrek realized his mistake and the donkey explains him that they were not talking about him. They reached the palace with the help of the dragon and stopped the marriage. Shrek expressed his true love and the princess also told him about her curse. They got married and lived a happy life together.

Donkey:
The donkey wanted to be with Shrek as he saved him from the soldiers and he didn’t even judged him on his appearance. When Shrek went to save the princess from the castle, he was with him on every step and even didn’t leave him when he was being rude to him.
Princess Fiona:
Princess Fiona was the princess Shrek saved but she wanted the true love’s expression as she wanted to break the curse. Also she was very rude to Shrek and donkey when the sun sets because she also turned into an Ogre in the dark. When the donkey advised her to marry Shrek instead of the lord Farquaad, she refuses just because she thought that she was very ugly and Shrek deserves someone better.
Villain’s Profile (Shrek 1 movie review):
Lord Farquaad:
Lord Farquaad was the villain of the movie as he evicted every fairy tale creature from the area and forced them to live in the swamp uninvited with Shrek who wants his privacy undisturbed. So, he went to Farquaad for a conversation but he ordered his soldiers to kill him. After he won, he made a deal with Shrek to bring the Princess for him and he will give him his swamp back. He only wanted to marry the princess because he just wanted to become the king.
Did you Notice!
The fire breathing dragon open ups on its own at the end of the movie.
Shrek started pretending to be scary when all the people consider him wrong just by his appearance.
