Story (The Black Cauldron):

Introduction (The Black Cauldron):
The movie “The Black Cauldron” revolves around an ancient old relic and it was heard that the relic had the power to create an army of undead people and they were called the cauldron-born.
Hen Wen:
Once, there was a boy named Taran who took care of a pig named Hen Wen in a farm but he wanted to become a warrior. One day, the pig owner Dallben came to know that an evil minded creature The horned King is upto take the Black Cauldron. He thought that maybe he uses his pig “Hen Wen” that has the power to locate the cauldron so he ordered Taran to take the pig to safety.
Taran met Gurgi:
He took the pig out to the forest but when he reached there, he thought of becoming a warrior and while he was in his dreams, the pig escaped. Hen Wen was captured by the horned king’s soldiers. Finding the pig, Taran met a creature named Gurgi who wanted to have a friend but Taran refused as Gurgi was not leading him to the horned King’s place.
Hen Wen’s rescue:
Taran then followed the horned king’s creatures to the Horned King’s place. There, he saw them asking the pig about the location of the black cauldrons but the pig refused. Taran helped Hen Wen to escape the castle of the horned king but was captured himself and locked up in the dungeon.
Princess Eilonwy:
There, he met Princess Eilonwy who helped him escape the dungeon. When they were leaving, they saw the coffin of the late king of the castle. Taran took his sword considering him as a warrior. They also helped another prisoner to escape.
Magical Sword:
The sword Taran took was magical and helped Taran fight those creatures in the castle. After escape, they met Gurgi again and found Hen Wen as well. Then, on Hen Wen’s lead they reached an underwater kingdom of fairies. The fairies told him the location of the cauldron and took the responsibility of Hen Wen to take it safely to the Dallben’s farms.
Taran’s Plan:
Taran decided to find the cauldron before the horned king and destroy it. One of the fairies helped him leading the path. When they reach there, they found out that the cauldron in under the supervision of three witches.
Indestructible Cauldron:
Taran wanted the cauldron to destroy but the witches asked them to make a deal of cauldron in place of the magical sword. Taran unwillingly agreed but when he tried to destroy it, the witches told him the cauldron is indestructible and it can only be stopped if someone willingly jumps into it. But this will take the life of that person.
The horned king got the cauldron:
Suddenly, the horned king’s creatures appeared and took the cauldron and the three with them but Gurgi escaped. The horned king then used the cauldron to make his army of undead warriors, the cauldron-born.
Gurgi’s help:
Gurgi realized his mistake and reached there to help his friends. He unlocked them and Taran tried to stop the cauldron by sacrificing his life and jumping into that relic but Gurgi stopped him and jumped which stopped the cauldron from making more undead warriors. The cauldron then pulled everything back.

Happy Ending (The Black cauldron):
The horned king started to fight with Taran as he had ruined his plan but was pulled into the relic, killing him. The castle started to collapse but everyone escaped safely. After that the witches arrived to take the cauldron back but they asked an exchange deal of cauldron with their friend Gurgi back. They all then lived happily ever after.

Character Profile (The Black Cauldron):
Gurgi:
Gurgi is a badger like creature that met Taran in the forest when he lost his pig Hen Wen. He wanted a friend and asked Taran to be one but was a scary creature. When Taran asked him to help and lead him the way to the horned king’s castle, he refused but at the end of the movie, he realized his mistakes and he tried to fix them by sacrificing his own life for everyone’s safety instead of Taran’s and then he jumped into the cauldron.
Villain’s Profile (The Black Cauldron):
The Horned King:
The horned king is the villain of the movie who wanted to destroy the world by the powers of the black cauldron. He searched hard for it but could found it. He even tried to kidnap the person with a little knowledge of the cauldron and can help him reach it. But his plan was ruined by a little boy Taran who tried to stop him. At last, the horned king was killed as the cauldron pulled him in it.
Did you Notice!
All the minions in the horned king’s army were animals. They all had an animal face with human traits like walking and talking.

Life Lessons (The Black Cauldron):
- You can gain everything if you show up some courage.
- Try your best and you will succeed in every battle of your life.
- To get something in your life, you have to lose something as in the movie, for everyone’s safety Gurgi sacrificed his life and proved that he was not a coward.
- Help your loved ones in their problems, no matter what happens.
