Story (Kubo And Two Strings)

Introduction (Kubo and Two Strings):
The movie “Kubo and Two Strings” is about a boy named Kubo who lived with his mother in a mountain cave. His mother had lost her memory but it was not permanent. At night, she is all perfect; tell Kubo different short stories about his father, Hanzo. But in the morning, she was like a doll, which did little things by moving her.
Mother’s Advice:
Kubo used to let her sit in the sun in the daytime and he went to the nearby village where he tells people stories to earn for living. Kubo’s mother always told him to come back before the sun set and he always followed her. She told him how his grandfather, The Moon King in the movie Kubo And Two Strings, killed his father and his soldiers and stole Kubo’s one eye.
Bon Festival in Village:
Now they were up to steal his other eye. They could only find him in the dark. That was the only reason of her telling him not to stay out in the dark. One day, when he came to village, he experiences a change in the people behavior as they were preparing for a night festival in the village.
An old lady called him and asked him to stay that night to see the festival and hearing this Kubo forgot about his mother’s instructions. In the Bon Festival, he made a lamp from his origami skills that his mother taught him. He wanted to speak to his late father, Hanzo but was unable to do so.
Kubo’s found:
At that time, the sun set. It was dark all around. Suddenly, he heard someone calling him in a strange voice. On the other side, his mother gained her consciousness in the dark and unable to find her son, she quickly ran to find him. The strange voice was of his aunts, Karasu and Washi. They had found him. But his mother reached at the last moment saving her son. She used her last powers to save him and before letting him run, she told him to find his father’s armor.
Wooden Monkey:
That was the only way to be safe from his grandfather and his aunts. When Kubo woke up, he found himself in a snowy deserted place and saw that his wooden monkey charm had come to life. At first, he got scared but then he get used to it. The monkey took him to a smelly cave. They took rest and drink some soup so that they can get strong to face the difficulties.
Beetle Kidnap Kubo:
When they continued their journey towards the armor, a cursed beetle like creature kidnapped Kubo. The beetle was once a human. The beetle had a little memory of his previous life. He told Kubo and Monkey that he used to work for Hanzo a great samurai warrior so Kubo took him with them in the succeeding journey.
Unbreakable Sword:
An origami Hanzo also helped them in their way. Hanzo showed them the way to one of the armor part out of three parts. When they reach there, they saw the unbreakable sword but it was a trap. Getting it awakes a giant skeleton and the sword was not the real one. The real sword was in the skull with many fake swords. They tried their best to get the original one. The cave in the end collapsed and beetle with his flying saved Monkey and Kubo.
Long Lake Journey:
Then they had to cross the long lake to get the second part of the armor. Kubo used his shamisen to make a ship to sail on the lake. During the lake journey, beetle taught Kubo how to use bow arrow. Hanzo again helped him by telling them the location of second part that was the breastplate impenetrable.
Garden of Eyes:
Kubo remembered a story that his mother once told him about the garden of eyes in the long lake. He remembered that the eyes hypnotize a person by showing him the memories of their loved ones and kill that person. Beetle dived in the lake to get the breastplate but forgot his work and get the fish they lost during the bow arrow practicing.
Breastplate Impenetrable:
Kubo then dived but was surrounded by the eyes. There he knew that Monkey was really his mother. Beetle saved him. Up on the ship, Karasu attacked Monkey, injuring her but was killed by Monkey’s sword skills. Their journey continued. During their stay in the cave, Monkey told them the real story about her. While Kubo was sleeping, he had a dream of a blind old man who told him about the location of helmet invulnerable.
Moon King’s Trap:
Kubo quickly started his journey to get it but it was a trap set by his grandfather, the moon king and washi. When they reach there, Washi killed Beetle and Monkey and the paper Hanzo. Kubo then found the third part in the village and fought with his grandfather. The moon king wanted him to give his other eye to make him immortal but Kubo refused.

The End:
He, at first, used the armor but then he(Kubo and Two Strings) used his shamisen and used the memories of the ancestors of the villagers and turned the moon king into a human. Then on the next Bon festival, he talked with both his mother and father and saw the spirits turning into golden herons.
